Using a multiverse of cinema & sound from the last century. this bizarre new film stands on the shoulders of DADA and Futurism, Cinema Concrète , Using a mixture of existing footage and new content.
A monolithic amount of archival footage and recorded sound over four years of painstaking work to select and remaster these works, teleporting them back into our world.
Set in an “Orwellian” Future,0010 AA (After Algorithm) this Sci-Fi/Arthouse film explores a world where humanity has almost lost Its ability to dream and imagine. Algorithms have replaced basic tasks.
Obsessed by chasing the dream of synthesizing ourselves, humankind slowly has begun to replicate machine behaviours cognitively. Swiftly trying to reverse this change in a desperate attempt to protect ourselves, a small portion of humans that can still use their creative brain are protected and studied. Feeding their input back into the machine of greater humanity
When one of these “Designers” goes through a creative lapse of insomnia, Measures of science intervenes, catapulting the protagonist known only as “Number 33” into a deep chemical induced dream state hoping to extract the precious ideas and unlock his artistic potential.
A semi lucid virtual reality, where he searches his own subconscious for inspiration, and explores the history of format itself and the impossible dreams of the past that have captured our wildest imagination throughout time.
Featuring snippets of cinematic history and sound fx, Wax cylinder musical rarities and animations re-purposed and up-sampled.
a cut and paste world where the cast and sets are rewoven to form an entire movie plot threaded with an on screen debut and brand new musical score by Benjamin Walsh.
The Performance of Metronomos
This is a live performance piece where Benjamin Walsh plays live below the screening.
Every time it is performed the score and visual components can be slightly augmented to provide the festival and audience with their own unique version. This is done through the technology used to perform the score. Visual elements are done prior to the performance.
The Director ,Composer, Actor, Editor are all one person, the luxury full artistic license is a rare situation in the film world.
In cases where the live component is not possible
A separate edit is provided interlacing a filmed live performance through the work
Part Cinema part Music, the complex and fascinating score for this film has been woven into the narrative. Using wax cylinder archives and instruments from the 1800’s, film sound FX from the 1930-50’s, the palette from which Ben has brought back to life, is itself a focal point.
Reworking it through his cutting edge electronic sound tools and live instruments
Often being performed as part of the scene, splitting the focus on both artforms, and highlighting Benjamin Walsh’s skillset....Making sound in incredibly fascinating ways.
Off the back of the Remix Experiment Album his adventure through this concept is far from over.
As this is his debut into a film directors chair.. The path that led him here is paved by the many barriers formed internationally and interstate over the last 4 years. And this is how he has dreamt his way out.

The Film is in 2k native cinema resolution 2048 x 1080 it can be presented in HD if needed.
Screen size is dependent on venue size. However, a minimum of 8 meters to present the work in a professional cinema environment.
The film will be supplied in whatever format the venue requires to the spec of the projector.
DCP will require extra notice.
The performance requirements are:
Riser or suitable 3x3 area central position (not obscuring the screen.)
